We are just one of the hundreds of charities in Ireland attempting to make an impact on the equine welfare crisis. Adoption is a clearer, safer way for everyone involved-the charity, adopter and the horse, especially when compared to buying from various Irish classifieds. When buying online, not every seller offers after sales service.

When you adopt an animal from us, you have the reassurance that our animals have been rehabilitated to the highest standards, especially for the animals’ sake. With us, what you see is what you get (excuse the cliché but that’s the truth!), no hidden ailments, no mismatches, nothing we don’t tell you about before you ever consider adoption. We have a variety of horses all with different quirky personalities, so you can find one that suits you. We do our very best to match you with one of our rescues. You are guaranteed that we care when that horse leaves the Sanctuary. We have a team for you to call on at any hour if you have any worries or concerns. If ever your situation changes and you feel you cannot give the same level of devotion that you would have liked, that’s fine too! We’ll come and take the horse back, and if you ever feel you would like to take them back again, brilliant!

If and when you think you want to adopt, maybe something is holding you back? It’s ok. We’ve all been there. Maybe you feel you don’t know enough about horses? Maybe you don’t feel confident enough around them? We can provide constant monitoring to make sure your doing a good job. You can speak to other people who have adopted horses from us. They’ll be able to answer any questions you have. You can also help out at the Sanctuary to get some hands-on experience with our team of animal-loving volunteers who can show you how it’s done.

Either way, we’ll be there for you every step of the way, from preparing your paddock for your new arrival, to handling, vets and farriers. There’ll be a team next to you for all of it.
